About Us
Welcome to Prospect Music Therapy
Our Story
Prospect Music Therapy has grown out of a need in our community. Starting with one small school contract in 2017, our practice has grown to provide music therapy for many schools, adult day programs, skilled nursing facilities, and special recreation associations. In 2019 we added a clinic space for groups, camps, individual music therapy sessions, and adaptive music lessons. We are proud to partner with many wonderful organizations in our community and excited to share our area of expertise with so many other professionals and clients.
As music therapists, we feel honored to connect with our clients through the art form that we love. As a team, we continually work to improve our skills through continuing education and peer supervision, and our work benefits from our ability to consult with one another.

Dose of Inspiration
An autistic child was working on his verbal communication. The music therapist provided him with opportunities to practice sentence structure while singing and playing tone bells. The addition of rhythm and melody to language involves more areas of the brain than speaking alone and gave the child increased opportunities for learning.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Loren Goodman both professionally and personally the past few years. Loren and I have collaborated on various projects together, such as a Sensory and Storytime program at a local library to facilitate language and social relationships for children with special needs. Loren is extremely collaborative and creative, and continues to dedicate her practice to serving children and families in the community. It is with the highest respect that I recommend Loren and her practice Prospect Music Therapy.“
“From day one when Leandra came to provide music therapy for our client base we saw a marked difference and response from some of the intellectually and developmentally challenged adults we serve. I noticed one client in particular, who tended to be a quiet and introspective person generally, open up during the session clapping their hands and singing loudly. It looked like that person was at a tent revival!
Leandra has always been professional and empathetic towards our folks and those clients have responded in kind to the warmth, spirit and exuberance she conveys during every session. Thank you for your fine service, we do so enjoy our music therapy classes at Avenues to Independence and we would roundly recommend Prospect Music Therapy to anyone else considering such a program.“
